For the last week of October the Physical Education classes are participating in Olympic style Team Handball. For those that are unfamiliar about Team Handball, think of soccer but using your hands. This uptempo one dribble game is great for elevating the heart rate. Strategy and teamwork are a must when playing this sport!
Last week for P.E. classes, we had the students do a variety of soccer activities. With one week of nice weather left, it was a perfect opportunity to get out and take advantage of the sunshine! The students did a great job of being active and participating.
The final two weeks leading up to Parent-Teacher Conferences the P.E. Department is shifting its focus to fall sports. We will be leading the students through a variety of football and volleyball activities. This is a great chance for student-athletes that participate in after school sports to lead activities and demonstrate techniques to their peers. If the weather cooperates, students will have the choice to stay inside for volleyball activities or soak up the last warmth of the semester.
This week for P.E. classes at the middle school we will utilize a local company that offers skating to school districts! The 6th grade has the opportunity to roller skate for two weeks. The 7th and 8th grade classes will enjoy these last few days of gorgeous weather by utilizing our old 5th grade playground. The students will play a variety of kickball and wiffle ball games.
This week in the gym we will be syncing our activities with the Spirit Week theme of the day!
